Zemission helps EU develop heating for electric vehicle batteries

The range of the electric car should be as long as possible. When the batteries are used for heating, the mileage on the road quickly decreases. This problem is now being resolved.

EU steps in to promote vehicle technology

Albatross is an EU project involving 21 companies from 10 countries, they all bring their respective expertise to the project. Zemission is part of the project and is responsible for zero-emission heating of the electric car’s battery pack and interior. The battery must always have a temperature between 20° and 40° C. The project goal is a battery pack with maximized performance, using today’s available technology. In 2023, the results will be presented.

Exhaust gases that you can breathe

Zemission’s system is second to none in terms of efficiency and emissions. Zero emission means that emissions contain only water and hot air. CO2 emissions are neutral when using ethanol or HVO. Harmful emissions of CO, HC, NOx and PM are all below ambient levels. In other words, the exhaust gases are breathable, so the system works in confined spaces, like a garage.

Zemission and the other companies in the Albatross project will provide a technical boost to the European automotive industry by developing the most efficient battery pack for electric vehicles.
